About
Hi, my name is tides (they|them). I practice astrology, teach rest + movement, & work as a pre-licensed psychotherapist. I love stargazing, dancing, singing, & exploring shadows. I’m based on Tewa land in occupied northern NM.
⚘ I began studying & practicing astrology in the early 2000s, and rest + movement practices from the age of 3. Both have brightened my life, which is my inspiration for sharing in them with others.
⚘ I began practicing counseling in 2025, with a curiosity for deep companioning with other beings which has been life long.
⚘ Rest + movement offer ways to attune with our nervous systems; astrology offers a doorway into compassion for ourselves/ others/ life.
⚘ Therapy provides a habitat for us to exist as we are, & also change.
⚘ All these practices invite us to grow our awareness.
⚘ An attuned nervous system, compassion, awareness, and nurturing habitats for being & becoming are some great gifts we can offer each other as we endeavor to navigate the times we’re in & dream up new ones.

Approach
⚘ astrology: being with time. experiential. whole-sign house & tropical zodiac - based. weaves with myth, archetype, intuition, tarot, dreams. i love reading charts, & i delight in teaching astrology foundations to support others to read/ relate to the sky directly.
⚘ rest + movement: being with space. informed by hatha yoga (‘intimacy with life via the body/ mind’) + years of dancing, meditating, & martial arts. centers around accessing support/ being available to what’s arising. experience teaching elders, children, people with disabilities or limited mobility, neurodivergent practitioners, advanced & beginner students. i enjoy co-creating spaces where we can practice together in community, as well as guiding those who are interested towards cultivating their own personal practice.
⚘ therapy: being with self. presence-focused/ relational/ trauma-aware. informed by Liberation Psychology & existential, transpersonal, somatic-based, depth-oriented, narrative, person-centered approaches. expressive, storied, creative. Black, Indigenous, & PGM positive, fat positive, queer, kink positive, neurodiverse positive, prioritizes physical (+ other realms of) accessibility. experience working with addictions/ sobriety, relationships/ friendships/ family dynamics, aging/ changing, embodiment, sexuality, spirituality, grief, loss, +…
⚘ i’m grateful for the long lineages of teachers, students, comrades & peers that inspire me to continue exploring & learning ⚘

⚘ ⚘ i was born & then grew in occupied upstate NY on the Indigenous lands of the Iroquois nations, in a blended family of Sicilian-Jewish-English backgrounds. i aspire to live, work, & learn with awareness & active care towards the present and long-standing realities of colonial harms & displacement which grant me, a white-bodied settler, various points of access, mobility, & privilege. i aim to practice in ways that: loudly disrupt colonialism, racism, ableism, fat-phobia, capitalism, & gender-essentialism; acknowledge power dynamics in service of upending them; and challenge my unearned privileges while working & dreaming towards a world where everyone is able to exist & thrive as they wish to & with ease ⚘

Note: Therapy services are distinct from Astrology & Rest + Movement services — the former happens under my licensure as a mental-health professional; the latter two are not mental health treatment & are not eligible for healthcare reimbursement.
